What's going on there?

I'm not doing anything very exciting, drinking water...
well, coffee too, and also thinking
about the meaning of life, listening to rock music,
and thought this picture I snapped today, looked
cool. I deleted the rough draft, where I wrote about
"to love" being an infinite infinitive... and also didn't include
my idea to turn Thursday into Friday for lonely romantics
who don't like Fridays without dates. (ok I know you have dates, a spouse or don't want one, so you won't need to keep reading.)

If I do something fun on Thursday,
when Friday arrives it's more like Saturday, and of course
Saturday becomes like Sunday. Since I don't think about hot dates
on Sunday, except in the middle of very long sermons (which isn't why I haven't been going to church... and if you're a minister, No it wasn't funny) it seems to make sense.
Have a great weekend! It's Thursday here, maybe Friday there.
Whatever... it's a good day for some fun! That's not advice. You don't have to have any fun if you don't want to.

Lunch-time latte at McDonald's

A small Vanilla Latte at McDonald's
is one of the McCafe specialty coffee drinks on
the menu.

It's a hot latte, or at least it was when they served it. I took my time sipping the latte, yesterday afternoon, and really savored it. The latte had a good flavor, sweet but not too sweet. I still like the hazelnut ice coffee better, though I'll be back to this McDonald's location again for a latte or one of the other coffee choices. I also ordered the small french fries and kept some for later. And as you might have guessed, later also included something else to eat (actually a shake which I drank with a straw though it was sort of thick) and umm yeah, even later, an iced coffee at another fast-food place.

Did I forget to mention anything? Of course I did. But I can't remember what it was... oh yeah, I was listening to the radio, mostly hard-rock songs (though I didn't have the volume up loud), went to a couple of stores and looked at new and old albums/CDs, and did some more thinking about my favorite rock songs.

It's going to be difficult to decide which songs are among the top 50 or whatever. That's especially true because I haven't heard all the rock music, nowhere close (and don't plan to) but I'll just do my best and have to be happy with it that way. I hope you and other people out there come up with your own lists of favorite songs. Perhaps there will be rock and pop/rock songs on my list. I'm not sure -- and it's just for fun. Well, enjoy your day! Take care.

My Morning Triple Treat

I was looking for a way to feel happy
Wednesday morning. After stopping
at three fast-food restaurants, I found
what I wanted to eat and drink.
This photo wasn't at a restaurant.
How I wish they had a local food-court
with all the famous fast foods in the same location, with tables where people could eat... umm and people watch and stuff like that. I have no idea where the single, available young ladies in their 20's, 30's, 40'sare, but it would be fun to meet them while err...dining on burgers, fries, shakes, sodas, etc. I'm such a romantic guy. haha
It's Thursday. I think I'll buy an iced coffee, then come back and listen to a new music CD I bought at the store. That ought to help me get ready for Friday.

See what I'm eating

Before eating this Subway sandwich, which was filling and tasted good, I wanted to see the veggies and take a picture so I could show it here The sandwich (also pictured last time) was from Subway restaurant.

Inside a Subway sandwich

This is the Double 6" (six inch) Turkey Breast
Subway sandwich from a Subway restaurant.
I've been ordering the "double"
which has double the number of slices of turkey
breast. Now I suppose you want to see more
of the veggies! I like that idea.

The Dog wonders why I take pictures of all my food

Your dream about a funny guy eating a sub sandwich at 4 am was real.

Yes, that's me back in January! There's a dog (not pictured) watching me. When it's late at night or early morning and I have food, she magically shows up. It's kinda spooky sometimes when she rounds the corner in the middle of the night with the goal of eating my meal, but she's not a ghost, so I'm not too worried.

After a late night which got going in a Starbucks drive-thru... yeah, all by my lonesome, please send love and kisses, especially the kisses... err anyway, I did lotsa stuff then got some gas at a location of Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and bought a sub sandwich in the Subway restaurant at Love's, brought it back to the place, where the dog could give me that look, the one that makes me think she's questioning my thinking skills. For example, and of course I'm making this up: She could be thinking, "Why does he always take pictures of food before eating it, instead of the other way around?! Shouldn't the food be eaten first?!" Okay I doubt she's thinking that but it sounded rather humorous. But of course if I must explain the joke, umm yeah, I suck. But in a very, very nice way.

So use your imagination and while you are at it imagine you are out with me on a date, if you are a pretty gal that is. Ok don't do that unless you really want to and not only because I'm buying. Oh really, you're buying? Wow! Thanks. (now I'm sure you won't be able to sleep tonight unless, ok you will... because I post these entries in my night and during most of your mornings or afternoons... so you'll have time to forget it before you fall asleep. What a nice guy I am!)

Wait a minute! Make sure to be sweet, funny and don't have a voice (much) deeper than mine. Ok yeah, haha. I think a note should go right here. This blog isn't a diary and I don't write everything about myself and my life. It's supposed to be a fun time.

Food-related note: I've ordered the same kind of sandwich a number of times since I ate the one pictured above, though I have forgotten the exact number. Last time, the bread was dry and a bit crusty, but each of the other times the sandwich was very good tasting and was even better than I thought it would be.

Long Hair plus Knitted Cap keep me warm and COOL!

Yeah, that's me earlier in the week.

I'm going out tonight but probably only to a few stores. There's really not much going on here. What's happening there? Enjoy your night out! Take it easy.

Symmetry is an enemy of the mind

That could have been the caption for my last photo (below), taken March 31. (It was cropped.) There is sort of an uneasy feeling that comes from the sidewalk not being centered. I struggled with this for a while, until I gave up and decided to post it on Friday without any description.

Now it's early Saturday morning, and yes I do need coffee. I almost wrote something about a very long, imaginary prog-rock song but stopped myself before our attention spans and imaginations were all tested. Maybe some other time.

Hey. Have fun! Sing a song! Do a little dance! Be happy and love yourself! Take care. Bye.

Amazing clouds just past 6 pm on March 31

Fantasy flying machine... made of clouds.

Posted by Picasa

March didn't go out like anything, it landed.

Too close for comfort

Airplane-shaped cloud formation coming in for a landing?!
I need a latte!

Whew! That was close!

Going up!

This is the way it looked in the final
photo, from a slightly different angle.

Hmm... and I thought March was
gonna go out like a rock star making
a comeback. No, not me. I just have
hair like a rock star.

Iced Coffee Should Always be so Yummy!

Here's a photo of the best tasting iced coffee
I've had so far this year. It has that hazelnut flavor
I really love. (I drank a little of the iced coffee

before snapping this photo.)

I bought this iced coffee on Sunday, in the
drive thru of Freeway McDonald's restaurant (near Kmart)
in Ontario, Oregon. The guy who made it did a great job!

Thank you!

Actually, I've ordered iced coffee at Jack in the Box more often this year and have been to four or more of those restaurants, generally buying it at the drive-thru window.

I also drank iced coffee beverages from two Burger King locations. The two iced coffees tasted quite different to me, and the second of the two was way too sweet for me and didn't seem like there was as much caffeine as the first time, when it was very good and very competitive in terms of quality and flavor.

But the McDonald's iced coffee beverage is better than the others, so far. The plastic cup says this is (made with) "Premium Roast Coffee" and it sure tastes like an excellent coffee to me. Maybe I'll write more at a later date.

I believe in freedom of speech! I hope the world gets more freedom of speech for all people, everywhere!

There! That's all. I'm finished with this post. I just thought you should know. haha Ok take care. See ya.

Rock Music

This evening, I drove up at the right time, because I like rock music and one of my favorite rock songs came on the radio: "Best of You" by Foo Fighters. It's going to be in my list of top songs of the decade. That's for sure!! I'm thinking about writing a top 20, or maybe a longer list, but not sure whether it will be posted on this blog, another blog or remain unpublished.

I'd also like to come up with a list of (what I consider to be) the best rock songs -- going back to the '70s anyway -- though it would NOT be based on sales, popularity or how many times the songs were played on the radio. On this list, there also could be tracks that were not released as 'singles' and possibly not played on the radio. Yes, I do like the freedom of speech to tell my friends about my favorite songs, albums, movies, TV shows, foods, etc.

I'm also drinking the best iced coffee I've had so far this year. If I got a good photo, I'll post it later. Just remember, your memories matter! Be who you are! And have fun!

For some reason, the blog is acting up, perhaps it's a computer virus but I'm not sure. Anyway, this is just a note to explain that earlier problems caused it to publish when I tried to save a draft and also caused the photo to not show up the first time. Hope the blog works now and you can see the post. Thanks for your patience.

On this particular early-morning trip to Jack in the Box

I had to ask for some half and half
and sugar because the iced coffee
was a touch on the strong side, but
it didn't really make me as strong as
the photo, which was not edited,

seems to suggest.

Yeah, I'm barely able to hold up the iced coffee so early in the morning but that doesn't mean I'm a total basket case. I have pride, a sense of humor and a way with words. God bless me! I need it!

The photo gives the impression that I could fight monsters bigger than buildings, though the cup is very small compared to and a number of feet below that big Jack in the Box sign which has the appearance of a pretty, giant cube. At least if you are like me and you have a thing for fast-food signs.

Anyway, monsters?? Oh, I'm scared! I'm not joking now because I didn't write "haha" and, even though I don't believe there are monsters out there somewhere that want to fight me, I wouldn't want them to think I was laughing at them, if there were monsters, that is. Besides, if I saw such a monster, I'd be the first one out of the restaurant. But they better not get near my iced coffee.

I do like Jack in the Box's iced coffee. The first time I drank it was the best, although I would have to say the most recent time I had their iced coffee (not pictured), it also tasted great! Creamy, slightly sweet, smooth and not bitter, I felt it was nearly as good as McDonald's iced coffee, though somewhat different in flavor.

The pictured iced coffee was from another Jack in the Box restaurant. I sensed the coffee was freshly brewed but wasn't creamy enough or thoroughly stirred in and the flavor was alright but it wasn't very sweet. Like I already pointed out, I stirred in sugar and half and half. Then the iced coffee was the way I like it.

In my opinion, McDonald's still has the best iced coffee in flavor and consistency. I'll keep trying other iced coffees, and see what I think.

Famous brand soda-flavored cake, plus citrus pucker power!

I bought this 7 UP Lemon Lime Creme Cake
and some kumquats at the grocery store. I wrote
about the dessert last time.

The cake was a bit dry, not moist enough, though it was flavorful. I added small, thin pieces of pineapple, finely chopped kumquats and citrus fruit juices, and it became a yummy dessert. I already had the Moro orange (also known as a blood orange), larger pieces of fresh pineapple and the lime in the refrigerator.

Speaking of the fridge, that's where I'm going right now.

Looks like a very elegant dessert for a picnic in paradise...

even though this was just my way
of having some creative fun with food
on Friday evening.

The cake was from the grocery store. I decorated it
with pineapple, kumquats, and the juice of
a lime and a Moro orange, and powdered sugar on top. Also,
those are thin lime slices, which kinda look like cute little green wheels. The cake was not moist enough, so I feel the fruit and fruit juice really helped improve the quality of the dessert.

I shared with my folks and they said they liked it. I'm
glad they said that, because then I can say they said it and of course
it makes me look good.

My other final paragraph, which I decided to add back went something like: Even if beauties dressed for the beach, which wouldn't be over-dressed, of course, had stopped by for a bite to eat, I would have had to say: NO! Because now I'm just saying No to temptation. Umm... until next Friday, anyway. haha

Ok, just a question: Did anybody give up kissing and hugging for Lent? I thought not. Well, if you're not getting any, like me lately, you can't give it up. Ooh I'm so funny! My eyes just did that dance from side to side, like way too silly for description.

Anyway, I want to give up NOT kissing and hugging but it doesn't have anything to do with religion. However, it would be cool to find a single, available church girl, or two, in their (I mean her) 20's to 40's, who also want (yeah, "wants", she wants) to give up not kissing and hugging. I still have a goofy expression on my face. Now I must go in search of fast food. Who knows, maybe I'll even see you out there somewhere, but I doubt it. Stay cool. See ya later!

I don't eat fast food all the time

Before noon Sunday, I started to peel, slice
and grate vegetables, then cooked this Borshch, which is full of
vegetables but no meat, the way I was taught
many borshchs ago. Beetroot, carrots, cabbage and potatoes are some of the fresh ingredients.

For a few minutes

this moon made me think of romantic love.
But since that's a painful subject,
my unexpected urge to go out for french fries
and a soft drink proved to be an
excellent distraction.

However, a little later I decided to eat what was here, some simple food. Tonight I'll go out, get iced coffee or soda and maybe a small meal or snack. And try not to think about love some more. Feel free to join me. And don't take me too seriously because I am basically joking around. And no, as far as I know I'm not originally from the moon. Take it easy!

Friday AM, Just Past Midnight, and not much open

I went to a Burger King
drive-thru and ordered a Mocha Joe
iced coffee. (It says "Mocha Joe" on the
order slip.)

This is the the most delicious iced coffee-type of beverage I've had in weeks. But it's been a while since I've been to McDonald's for their iced coffee. Guess where I'm going tonight?!

Anyway, I like the this picture because it reminds me of how I looked years ago. And while it's nobody else's business how many years ago that was, I had a Kiss T-shirt on in one picture. The rock group Kiss was one of my favorite bands back then, and I went to one of their concerts. Talk about excitement and fun! I even wrote about the concert. That was a lot of fun too. Some people wish they could relive past experiences. I'd rather just turn on the radio and listen to rock music, while I'm drinking iced coffee. That's what I'll be doing tonight! Take it easy.Posted by Picasa

So Late It's Early!

My late-night (or is it early morning?)
SNACK! It was 3:30 a.m. and everyone probably was
asleep in this time zone --well not everyone, but
it has the sound of a book I would never finish--
and of course I'm only referring to humans, not the outline
on the wall.

What I'm holding here in my hand is the Supreme Croissant
from Jack in the Box. I went to their drive-thru on the way back here
(No, I'm not saying I live inside this blog, though that would be kinda cool)
after an outing which included shopping and drinking a small milkshake, small soda and three ice coffees at different locations. It's now 4:40 a.m., Friday morning. I think I'll be up for a while, perhaps until Saturday. Haha better mean I'm joking this time. Now I think I'll wind down by watching a TV show. And yeah, I probably would seem more real if I were a sitcom character. There's a silly expression on my face right now. No, you really don't want to see a photo!

Homemade Fish & Chips Meal

Battered and fried Chilean Sea Bass fillet,
homemade french fries with peas and fresh seedless grapes.

We ate this meal to celebrate a friend's birthday. The fries and two pan-fried Chilean Sea Bass fillets (one pictured on the plate above) were prepared and cooked by Mom. The fish was very flaky, moist and flavorful, and made me feel good inside.

Saturday night smile

Hey, look! There's the Taco Time sign.

You can't see the food but it
was a fabulous fast food experience.
I'll write more later. Take care!

Saturday

After eating dinner with my folks this evening at Taco Time, there was not
much to do (in this small town) except go to store, like all the other people
who go to the store, because there is not
much to do except go to store.
Maybe if I write that again it will be funnier--but I doubt it. haha...
which doesn't always mean I'm funny. But it does mean I'm joking.

Note: I decided to put the last post back to the original date it was posted. I'll do some more thinking on the topic and get back to you. Take care.

Halo-Halo for dessert

My version of Halo-Halo is a yummy dessert, even if it isn't
as delicious as Halo-Halo I ate in the Philippines.

It's been almost four years since I went there, so I'm trying to explore the memories as though they were a mini vacation.

"Remembering my favorite halo-halo or 'mix-mix' doesn't require much money-money, just a lot of imagination-imagination."

Yeah, I just quoted myself. haha

"Three" is for me. Three Bean Salad, that is

I love this meal... Couscous, Greek yogurt,
and Three Bean Salad.

Thursday afternoon, while I was driving around, I began to think about what would be good for supper. My first thought was to pick up a couple of hamburgers and find out which one tasted better.

I decided instead to eat couscous and the bean salad, which is tangy, due to the vinegar in it, and at the same time is slightly sweet, but not too much. This three bean salad was from a can. It tasted great, though the special three bean salad Mom makes using a recipe is even better.

I bought the foods and Mom helped do some cooking because I had already been quite busy preparing and frying ingredients for the dessert.

The couscous, from a box, only takes five minutes to cook on the stove. I especially liked eating this Greek yogurt with the couscous, which had pine nuts in it, because of the contrast of textures and flavors. There's protein in this meal and that makes me like it all the more.

I felt great after supper, though not too full. And, as I had planned, a little bit later I was ready to eat dessert. Sorry I can't share the dessert. However, I do have a photo which I'll post next time.

Blueberry pancakes are delicious for breakfast,
and dinner too. But today this blueberry pancake
with melted butter and syrup was my afternoon snack...
so I'd have enough energy to watch
another rerun of "The Beverly Hillbillies".
I love funny TV sitcoms like this one!

Caution: Be careful when making and eating
blueberry pancakes because the blueberries could become
very hot. I ate my pancake at the table, then went back
to watching the TV show.
