Boundaries of the imagination may be all that can limit our creativity as writers. It's almost Halloween and that's a good time to have a little fun!

This is a Sunchoke (also known as a Jerusalem artichoke) from the garden. It's a tuber and grows in the soil. In one sense, I like sunchokes better than potatoes because they have a sweet, nutty flavor. It's good steamed with butter or in thin slices, fried and served like hash browns. Yum!

Since it's going to be Halloween on Saturday, I'll be eating candy and write about it. But I don't eat candy every day. Hey, I can't believe it's snowing as I type, though I'm hoping it won't stick.

Being a real live snowman for Halloween would be a very cool costume, but I prefer having a hot babe in each arm. Of course it's another fantasy that will melt away, as soon as my brain thaws out. haha Lots of kidding in here. Too bad goofing off isn't considered a transferable skill. Then I might actually be able to lasso a real paying job, that is permanent and with benefits. I need to invent a time machine that takes me back to the Old West, or to the 25th century. Maybe it's nice there. And who knows, perhaps "Fast Food Yummy" is required reading for college students in the future. I always had a feeling pretty girls would like me better after I was dead. Oh yeah, I will be there if I can somehow invent a time machine. Better get to work. haha Bye.

It's a beautiful spring day (in this photo) except my favorite person passed away in April!! I miss my Grandma! I love her. I know she's in heaven, and I'll always think about her, so she's in my heart and my mind too.

She believed in me and cheered me up when I was feeling down. I've been mistreated, cheated, lied to and under appreciated by some past employers and past girlfriends. It's painful. Sad. Depressing. It's yet another reason "Fast Food Yummy" is such a great place for me because it's where I put a lot of my good feelings and comments about the best fast food experiences, and what else comes to mind when I'm hanging out with friends or by myself.

But have you ever noticed how there are more and more people these days that want to destroy our good feelings and take away our smiles?

Governments of this world continue to try and take away freedoms of speech from people on our planet, including the freedom to write what we think and believe, and that makes me very upset. Some nations of course are ruled by idiots who arrest people for what they say or write which means in those countries they have very little freedom of speech or almost no freedoms at all. Well, there's the 'reality' everybody seems to want me to focus on. Sometimes what comes to mind when I'm eating out is the big world because I care about people and I want change for the better.

The above photo shows my best dog friend, Dolly, also known as Dollie by my parents, and known as Dahlilah (or you could spell it Delilah, Dollilah, or Dollylah), Dollishka (my Russian nickname for her), Dolly Pepper (a name that didn't stick when she was a little puppy) and Dollypiglet, and other nicknames that shall go without mention at this time.

I used these Soy products to make the Soy Shake (pictured). Soybeans are (among the) ingredients used in the manufacturing of these foods, which in my opinion are very delicious.

Soy Shake

 
It tastes similar to a peanut butter milkshake, which is a shake flavor I've loved in past years. But this shake does not have ice cream, milk or peanut butter in it.

This is a Soy Shake. The first time I made a soy shake this year, I used a blender but that makes it too runny, not thick at all that way, and it doesn't seem much like a milkshake. So I stirred it in a bowl. Then, using a spoon, I scooped it into a tall glass. Next, I ate the shake with a spoon. Yum! Oh yeah, I did take pictures but didn't feel like making any funny faces. As a result, I'm not in any of the pictures.

 
This ought to offset my zany donuttiness. Yes, it is me! Spell check just informed me I was wrong about the spelling of 'donuttiness' but since spell check isn't a sexy chick, I don't care.

Rock songs reviewed: Ace Frehley makes a big comeback! Thai band Clash has a heavy-rock hit!

My pick for songs of the month, so far, are Ace Frehley's single "Outer Space", released in August, and "Tah Chon (Crashing)" (which was released in 2006) by the band Clash, of Thailand. Note: This band is not The Clash.

I like what Ace Frehley, the legendary (and ex) lead guitarist of the rock group KISS, is doing in his comeback. His song "Outer Space" could become a pop/rock classic, or at least it will revive his career. It has a catchy melody, is a danceable song that rocks hard in spots, too. I think it's going to be a hit! Ace is back!!!

Clash is a Thai band that I previously didn't know anything about. "Tah Chon" is a very cool song, moving back and forth between heavy-rocking parts of the song and outstanding--softer, though powerful--vocals, then back to the band rocking hard again. And that's the kind of rock song I like best.

Message to readers: I hope you will support your favorite bands and solo artists, by buying their singles and albums if you can find them available for purchase online or in your local stores.

It's after midnight now, I'm rather bored but there are still some donuts left in the box. This pic was taken yesterday. So I'll make the same face when I'm eating the doughnut in a few minutes. It's going to be another yummy Krispy Kreme doughnut, which also means I am feeling happy right now.

Just to keep up my tradition, I'll add: I'm hungry.

Drinking a hot Latte from Seattle's Best Coffee Express

 
At around 10 pm I went to the Seattle's Best Coffee "Express"
just inside of Albertsons.

In the cup is a medium (16 oz.) Latte with an extra shot of espresso and a flavor. I chose Hazelnut flavor because that's my favorite. The summer special price was $2.50 and the extra shot of espresso and flavor were $.25 each. I'm still drinking the latte as I'm typing. A machine made this latte, but I think it's better than most lattes I've had in the local area.

The ice cream bar was very good tasting. Though I usually buy ice cream by the ton. I'm joking, and do not eat much ice cream.

Actually, I have been craving this i.c. bar for a long time but was afraid it might become habit forming. The fountain drink was great too and I know it was very sweet--the way I like it--because after eating the i.c. bar, the soda was yummy. Sometimes after I eat ice cream, pop doesn't taste good, but not this time. I added squirts of lime and vanilla to the soda, so that could be the reason.

How many excuses can I come up with for eating an ice cream bar? Well, enough I suppose... Let me begin with the best one: it seemed to be saying "Eat me!" (but it didn't, and I wouldn't eat talking ice cream if ice cream could talk) Then, also, the air conditioner is broken... and I just ate a spicy meal and needed some ice cream. OK it's not wrong to think of ice cream as a 'need'. I don't think I'm going to hell for thinking ice cream is an important part of my life. At least I hope not because I doubt that they serve it there.

TATA, we miss you!

I feel in my heart and believe in mind that TATA, the dog of Rampai and her Mom, will be in doggie heaven, which surely must be where all the dogs go and get to be exactly as they were when they were young and full of energy. Maybe they get to play ball and always be very happy in that wonderful place. I believe the soul or spirit of every person, and our pets too, continues after his or her life on earth is finished, even if I can't explain how that happens. Rampai, I hope you know I'm thinking of you especially now, and I'm glad you are such a good friend.

Ready for Fall, and getting back Up! too

In a little more than a month, I'm going to drink a latte (or several, though not the same day) to help me feel Up! for Fall, and buy the soon-to-be-released album by Alice in Chains, "Black Gives Way to Blue".

"A Looking In View" is the superb hard-rock single (of more than 7 minutes in playing time) which I've been listening to often this summer. It's powerful, starts very strong, and the band, with a new singer, sounds as good as they did in the '90s when they had several hits, which I feel can best described as grunge-rock/hard-rock.

I bought the single on iTunes, after first listening to it when the band gave fans a free download. I deleted it that same day, and purchased the song later once I figured out how to do it. I hope other rock fans will buy this wonderful hard-rocking single.

It's only been the recent years that I've been a true Alice in Chains fan, first getting excited every time I heard one of their songs on the radio, then buying their greatest hits CD about two and a half years ago.

Here's the link to an Alice in Chains website. You must only click "Yes" on the website if you are 18 (or older), and must click "No" if you are under 18 because there is "Explicit Content" in the music video. Also, in my opinion, this video, which is with the song "A Looking in View" is hard to watch if a scary, slightly violent movie bothers you; it's tense and almost frightening scenes could bother some viewers. But in my personal opinion, it's an outstanding video to go along with this excellent rock song!

One last thing: the song "A Looking In View" will be in my Top 100 rock songs but I don't know when my list will be finished... possibly next year.

I wrote this little fake invitation to my fantasy shake party (above) in May. But I'm adding to this post:

Right now I'm waiting to listen to a hard-rocking single I bought on the Internet and will listen to it and maybe make another soy shake.

Oh wow! This is almost like live, except when you read it I'll be doing something else and maybe not even be awake. Let's just pretend we are all together... so guess what?

The song that I purchased has finished downloading into iTunes. I'll write more about the song (somewhere up ^^ there in my blog) because it's one of my favorite songs this year.

Warren, Ohio was a good place to be born

I just found out that Dave Grohl, the frontman of the rock band Foo Fighters, is going to be honored Saturday (today) in Warren, Ohio, where he was born, according to Trib Today and Rock & Roll Daily in Rolling Stone. These are good stories. I'll try to add relevant links as I run across them.

Well, I was very excited to learn that Grohl, a famous rock star and one of my favorite rock vocalists, was born in Warren since I was born there, too. Unbelievable, right?! No, I'm not just jumping on the 'bandwagon' and I'm not making this up. I was born in Warren, Ohio. It's what my parents told me over and over in past years. And we discussed it again this morning. We moved to Oregon when I was a child. My Mom and Dad will be going back to Ohio this month, so I've asked them to snap a few pictures of "Dave Grohl Alley" in Warren, Ohio.

Wanta feel so blessed

This summer, I plan to be about as unpopular as possible. I could achieve this goal by posting my photos without captions, then other times writing lengthy, boring stories about my love life. I've thought the longest post in the history of blogging would get people ready to sleep well the night before a big concert. There's one coming up. I'm getting excited but I don't have a date. That's cool because I'm sure there will be some pretty girls there.

Okay, just for readers. I will provide my expert analysis of the last paragraph in an effort to explain what Fast Food Yummy is about, other than the obvious fact, that I am writing about fast food and think some of it is "yummy".

First, I have had a love life at times during my life, even though it's not apparent at this time.

Secondly, keep in mind that I'm joking around and don't give a damn. Umm, I mean I don't care, but to some extent I do. (below, I'll finish this thought.)

Thirdly, I don't swear on this blog. Or, I didn't swear on this blog. Heck, if you are learning English, I was only trying to help by demonstrating the difference between present tense and past tense.

Lastly, and seriously, I'm a writer who sometimes writes like he's talking, with the purpose of having fun and sharing fun with others.

Now back to what I wrote about not caring. I do care, but I am waiting for a pretty person with a terrific personality. In other words, a supermodel. Yeah, I'm joking. A beautiful singer would be much better. If she wants to come over here this afternoon and sing me to sleep, I'd feel really blessed. Everyone always tells me in messages: "God bless." I sure hope he does.

See! Funny. Somewhat real. A little fantasy and fun. And you know the writing about fast food will be here as long as I am.

Summer gets spicy at Wendy's

Wendy's boneless chicken wings were a great choice
of fast food to get the 4th of July party started.

Honey BBQ and Sweet & Spicy Asian Chicken are two of the three types of boneless chicken wings on the Wendy's menu. I shared with my parents and we ate the chicken at their picnic table. Along with the fountain sodas from Taco Time and Carl's Jr., it was a very nice lunch.

Wendy's fast-food chain has found a 'winner' in boneless chicken wings which are very delicious!

Hook me up to a Soda Fountain Machine

There's nothing wrong with starting new traditions
on a holiday... umm but this won't be one of them.
Drinking out of both sides of my mouth is just for the picture.
Later and earlier, I went back and forth, comparing the two.
In Ontario, Oregon USA, Taco Time's fountain-drink soda was still
better than Carl's Jr., though they were the top two,
as I wrote last time.

Today, I wanted to make sure I was right (and I was!) and start another season of soda drinking with the top two. This picture was taken just before lunch.

Taco Time has the best soda in town

The best fountain-drink soda in Ontario, Oregon is at Taco Time.(near Wal-Mart.) Also pictured is a Crisp Chicken Burrito -- my favorite food on the menu, because it tastes great with a fizzy soft drink.



I love going out for soda and if a fast-food restaurant has great tasting fountain drinks, they will see me again and again.

Taco Time in Ontario has the best fountain soda. It tastes very sweet--the way I like pop-- with the perfect amount of carbonation, not too little and not too much. I've been frequenting this Taco Time for several years because it has consistently outstanding fountain drinks.

My decision was the result of drinking soda at many other Ontario fast-food restaurants a good part of this decade as well as getting fountain drinks in convenience stores at gas stations and truck stops. And after a long process of slowly eliminating from contention many of the fountain drinks (some were terrible and not worth remembering), I narrowed it down to a small number of great fountain drinks in the last year.

Taco Time finished "Number 1" in fountain-drink soda, followed by Carl's Jr. which also had very good soda. The last time I drank soda at these two restaurants (different days), I went there at about the same time of day, which was around 5 pm, before the dinner crowd arrived. I drank my mixture of Diet Coke and Dr Pepper from each restaurant. Taco Time had the sweeter soda. The carbonation of the soda was outstanding.

The fountain soda at Carl's Jr. this time was still good but could have been sweeter, and it also had a bit too much fizz which bothers my stomach. That's why I feel Taco Time has the best fountain soda.

But maybe in a year or two, I'll do this all over again... THE BEGINNING. haha You thought I was going to write... umm the end?! Not a chance.

Yummy Shake

After eating Seasoned Curly Fries and drinking iced coffee from Jack in the Box, a week ago on Saturday, I was still hungry and went looking for a shake. I found it at The Hamburger Connection, known for their thick "Mile High Shakes".

The shake was yummy and I ate it with the long plastic spoon they gave me. Honestly, I couldn't finish the large shake and instead should have ordered a small one. A large (22 oz) shake there costs $3.69 which ends up being $3.91 with tax, so I probably won't order it often.

I've been ordering shakes on several occasions this year and hope to write an article on my favorite shake. But I'm not going to decide right away which shake I liked best. However, I did come to a conclusion yesterday regarding what I feel is the best fountain-drink soda at a local fast-food restaurant. I will post more on this topic next time.

"Some err... Heat" is reality. Still, it better stay clear of The Cool Shadow

Sure, it's only a shadow of a shake, and my hand which was holding the shake. (I'm referring to the earlier cropped photo, see a previous post.)
But if the shadow could kick the... ahh sorry, this is supposed to be a civilized blog... i mean if shadow did have a nice, calm conversation with "Some err... Heat" it should... I mean would convince the heat to stop being a bad it.

But this cool shadow is just a shadow. Besides, my blog isn't about superheroes and enemies of eaters, such as: the blandness monster, that driving-around-with-no-air-conditioner thirst (i get it often in the summer), and the fear that marketing people really will find a way to turn burgers, fries, shakes, etc. into real beings, not just for funny commercials, and umm they will then demand vacations and hmm... no, not longer lunch breaks. It's food. I think I'd better tell one of my friends I'm joking now or I will forever worry that she thinks that I think french fries want or need vacations. Why am I explaining this...oh yeah, coz I'm a blogger.

Anyways, summer heat ain't got no ahh...sorry (again).

So just shake your Shake... don't shake your... well, I better go now.

Fast-Food Snack(s) Day

Saturday afternoon was kind of boring.
With not much going on at a shopping mall
and not wanting to eat a big meal, I went looking
for snacks.

I went to a Jack in the Box drive-thru and got
a large iced coffee (with caramel flavor) then decided
to get Seasoned Curly Fries. This is medium size and
I dipped these fries in Buttermilk House Sauce.

Later, I stopped at another fast-food joint for a shake.
All of my snacks tasted good but the curly fries was the
best of menu items that I ordered yesterday, and some
other days, too.

Maybe the only thing better would be KISS concerts everywhere

Do-good, feel-better Dog story

I like stories about people who loved and did good deeds to help animals, especially to save or make life better for dogs, cats, and other pets.

I just read a touching story about a fallen U.S. soldier in Iraq and how he had helped a dog in Iraq and made the dog his pet. The news story can be found on MSN.com. It's one of my favorite stories about someone showing love for a dog, so that's why I wanted to share the link. It's very cool!

Invisible message: what May ROCK!

Two months ago, I provided a little humorous remark that I thought March was going to go out like a rock star making a comeback. Actually, I have no idea what I meant and was hoping someone would tell me. umm... insert haha.

Maybe I was two months ahead in my thinking. ok it's nothing. And...err, uh, well, (besides this being maybe the only place on the planet where a guy writes likes he's tongue-tied) umm... Your guess is as good as mine about upcoming weather. Although I do know what's going on in rock music these days is very interesting. At least it is for me.

First, I bought two music CDs and hope to go into more detail later. My feeling is there could be one, two or more songs from those albums on my top-whatever-number-of-songs list. No, that won't be the name of my list, but it is kinda catchy. so now people are going to be googling Scott's 'whatever-number-of-songs list'... good luck! haha

What was that second thing I wanted to write. Oh yeah, wait as I attempt to straighten out my smile and get serious.

Alright, next time I'll just have a short post, which will be in the regular, boring text color. However, the post will 'rock' because there will be a link to something of interest for fans of the rock group KISS.
