My way to Halo-Halo 'Sprummer'... You figure it out!

 
Similar to Halo-Halo treats I've eaten, for flavor and my own enjoyment! As shown, I added plantain, which was cooked in butter in a skillet, also sections of an uncooked fresh Cherimoya (caution: it contains large seeds), plus a few pecans, and ice cream.

I like this scoop of ice cream because I love huckleberries, and this is the Tillamook Mountain Huckleberry premium ice cream. More huckleberries would make the ice cream even better but it's pretty good the way it is.

You're Right!

The Internet seems to be full of jerks who just want to criticize our tastes in music. They suck! Hey, I don't give advice and this isn't an advice column. But let me just add, if you are a young adult or teenager, though I doubt many teens read my blog, you are right about the bands, albums, and songs you think are great! Keep loving or liking those artists and their music.

At the same time, those are only songs, and just like when you watch a movie or TV show, don't do what they did or say what they said because it's intended for entertainment purposes and the songs and movies are NOT about your life. The characters in movies or subjects of songs may be based on reality or they could be pure fantasy, or something in between.

Be careful and don't identify with something that could harm you. I'm saying songs can be appreciated in an objective way, just like watching a movie, even though you may not have done what the characters are doing-- and in many cases you should not do what they are doing-- or what the singer is singing about in the song. For example, the songs on my list of 25 Best Songs of the '00s do not necessarily reflect my thoughts, my beliefs, my feelings, my lifestyle or anything about me. Obviously, I can relate to some lyrics, but most lyrics are like going to a movie and listening to characters talking, being entertained but not really being able to relate to those characters or understand why they are that way.

I enjoy entertainment, especially good movies and music. I remember the music I liked when I was a teenager and for the most part I was right about the songs I felt were excellent. It's important to keep believing in yourself and don't listen to rude people online, because I know you are right about your taste in music!

1(a)The bedroom is messy and he didn't make his bed, so why did he invite me in here? Oh wait umm... I'm a dog and I invited myself in. That's cool.
1(b)Any person reading this who wants me, the pretty dog in the picture, to invite myself in to their bedroom had better have bags full of goodies.
1(r)I think I skipped a few letters, but I'm a dog and this is just a short list that's on my mind, or actually it isn't, but I'm sure someone is saying I have... yeah, like these logical thoughts about what I'm going to eat next. Yeah right, like Hello?!
2(d)Don't expect any diet tips from me. I'm a dog and I love to eat.
2(x)I wonder what's in 'Bag Number 2', and finally...
(z)Where's bag number 3? We need more choices.
1(a)We have to start over with 1(a) coz I ran out of numbers and letters, but I'll finish with 1(a) because it's most important... this is it, umm Forget The Past, it's bad for you, and by that I mean quit telling me that I already ate dinner. Out of sight, out of mind... It's the past. I can't stand people with too much baggage, you know like thinking about the past all the time. We dogs are superior in that regard coz we just keep moving on. So, like I said/thought...umm no I didn't really think this but it doesn't matter though, just feed me! Enjoy right now, tomorrow may never come... no, no I'm a dog, it will come, and the refrigerator of life (lousy metaphor) is full of so many possibilities, and foods.

Why in the world did I go out on New Year's Eve afternoon?! No, not to get to the other side. Oh yeah, I wanted to do something and doing something is always better than doing nothing. My brain didn't freeze because I kept thinking about rock songs, so I could finish my 25 best rock songs list and publish it here on the 1st of January.

And maybe the cold didn't bother me too much because I drank an iced latte, and later went to pick up fast food.

Thinking about rock songs

 
Last year I really thought a lot about rock songs. I don't recall a time when I thought so much about rock songs. This photo was on New Year's Eve (afternoon) as I was out drinking a latte and thinking about rock songs. This shows the numbers on an unfinished list. The problem was there were too many great rock songs, which of course is no problem at all. Way to go bands and all rock music recording artists! You're very cool!

I'm unhappy, can you tell? Well no, at least not at the moment. Actually this picture has almost nothing to do with anything except that I'm going to put some past photos on here after this one and some will have a bit of snow but many will not. And sometimes I will only write a sentence or two just to prove that online chatting hasn't completely wrecked my ability to write sentences. If someone doesn't like what I'm writing, just get lost, OK? Sometimes I'm funny and my sense of humor is lacking, but now I'm smiling and laughing even though that wasn't in the least bit funny. Rock Songs and Saints Fans are Cool!!

Hello. I wanted to give a long time on top of my blog to my list of (what I think) are the 25 best rock songs of the '00s. I wrote previously that this list is based on what I think, after listening to many songs. My list was based on my thinking about and comparing songs in a variety of ways. A few of my favorite songs of the '00s didn't make the list, which means this wasn't a list of my 25 favorite songs and that's why I called this list: "My List of 25 Best Rock Songs of the '00s" However, these songs are all among my favorites.

The song "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)" by Chevelle is 'Number 1' of the '00s, in my opinion, because it is an outstanding hard-rock/alternative-rock song with a progressive-rock flow and feel to it.

The vocals are among the best in the history of rock music. The lyrics are also outstanding, although I liked the lyrics in "Best Of You" by Foo Fighters and "Sooner or Later" by Breaking Benjamin slightly better. When I made the decision, I was thinking the singing is great on those two songs too but liked the Vitamin R singing better and thought the music and song composition also was by far the best, making it the best rock song of the decade and one of the best rock songs of all time.

All 25 songs will be in my 100 best rock songs from 1970 to the end of 2009. But there will be more songs from the '00s on the list, and I can tell you right now that one of the songs is by Slipknot and it's one of my favorites.

One more thing:

Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints on winning the Super Bowl! And congratulations to Saints fans, too, who waited a long time for a Super Bowl championship. I admire people who keep rooting for their favorite team and never give up on them. Enjoy the celebration!!

KISS

Yeah!!!

The rock-group KISS gets on my 25 best rock songs of the '00s with their smash hit "Modern Day Delilah".

"KISS performs 'Modern Day Delilah' on The Late Show" is a video on YouTube posted by OfficialKISSOnline. I am posting the link for educational purposes for those who want to learn how to rock out or simply have fun as a lover of rock music. I'm linking to other websites as well, so my readers can help find out more about bands, musicians and their songs.

Rock music is supposed to be fun! KISS is one of the bands bringing fun back to rock music.

Even though Ace Frehley and Peter Criss are not in the band now, KISS is still great with their founding (original) band members, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Personally, I always liked Ace's lead guitar-playing with KISS -- and he was so cool!! However, after viewing the video, I could tell that Tommy Thayer also is great as the lead guitarist of KISS and it's what pushed the song "Modern Day Delilah" on to my 25 Best Rock songs of the decade.

Stanley is still a great singer and better than most of today's rock singers. And, of course, he looks great for rock star-- of any age!! That's a compliment and he deserves it. KISS has made a successful comeback, in my opinion, even if the definition of "comeback" has to be stretched slightly because not all the original members are in the band. Well, if you think about it, there are lots of bands that don't have all their original members, so it doesn't matter.

What matters is, does the song sound good and really rock?! Yes and Yes, regarding KISS' "Modern Day Delilah", a smash hit from the new CD "Sonic Boom". I plan to buy it ASAP!

"Fire On the Inside" by Pillar will be on my Top 25 rock songs of the '00s

My Top 25 of the '00s includes one of the best Christian rock songs which I'd label somewhere between "metal" and hard-rock. I haven't heard the song on mainstream radio stations, but it sure should get a lot of airplay on all rock stations.

Was there any 'meaning' to the '00s?

I won't answer that question here. I'm neither a REAL philosopher nor a shrink. I'm not saying the world's all screwed up, even though it is. Well, at least I'm not going to spend time thinking or writing about the world's problems today.

I think I'll forget about that question and go back to dancing around in circles with the radio -- well, not cranked up to blow the ceiling off, though -- ON! loud enough for me to be super-charged throughout my body for New Year's Eve, and maybe causing aftershocks in my body for several days into 2010. In the last part, I'm joking. However, I do like to dance by myself to rock songs, especially ones with no dance beat whatsoever. It does make dancing more interesting though not necessarily make me a good catch. Ladies, what do you think? No, don't answer that question.

I want to add this: Please don't turn the music up too loud! But please have fun because, in my opinion, there's nothing more fun than fun. And rock music is fun! Which makes fun even more fun. Yes, I do need that kind of fun. Did I use the word "fun" too many times? No. Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!! Happy New Year!!

In upcoming entries, I'll just say what I was going to say... yeah, I do mean, I'll write what I was going to write, and maybe even turn you ON! to songs, food, and fun. These aren't the meaning of life but do make me feel happy. I'll try to think it over later. Okay, maybe not.

I'll go get an iced latte and finish my Rock 25 of the '00s. There will be more than 25 songs from this decade on my Top 100 (over 40 years) but I'll figure that out later.

Looking up to Dave Grohl

Dave Grohl was honored in Warren, Ohio this year. It's the town where he was born. Grohl became a famous rock star as the frontman, guitarist, songwriter and lead singer of the rock band Foo Fighters. Yes, he was an outstanding drummer in the legendary band Nirvana before he formed Foo Fighters. But drummers don't always get the recognition they deserve for helping make a band great. Now, Grohl is a member of the rock super-group Them Crooked Vultures and as the drummer he's helping give that band their own distinctive sound.

The above painting of Grohl in Warren, Ohio is a nice large, mural-style artwork that really reminds us how popular he is in rock music these days. I'm so good at stating the obvious, I'll probably tell you this again when I publish my list of top rock songs. That's because there will be songs by those bands on my list. Yes, it is because they are great! What else? I bought Foo Fighters Greatest Hits CD before Christmas as a gift to myself. I'm planning on having a little party (because I haven't started listening to it yet)... the party will be... actually just me and the CD, maybe way too much coffee or soda pop.

I'm also going to buy the new CD by Them Crooked Vultures -- for a second time -- because instead of opening it when I bought it the first time, I gave it as a Christmas present. Today, I'm gong to the store to buy the CD. Maybe I'll pick up food some place, too, because I want to feel good when I'm listening to the CDs.

Flyleaf got lucky or even more blessed (depending on how you see it) coz I woke up,

turned on the radio and listened to their version of a well-known Christmas song, "Do You Hear What I Hear". I like it.

Then, I decided to do this strange little write-up just in time for Christmas. So, Merry Christmas to Flyleaf and their fans!

Flyleaf has some great songs and they are a Christian rock band whose songs have become popular on mainstream radio. And they have an outstanding new video with the song "Again", which is listed as the Number 1 music video on Yahoo! Music, from what I could see this morning. So, as they say, check it out!

Anyway, I'm still drinking coffee (that should stop in about 40 years, yeah haha) and rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

I called "The Effect" to request a song, but reached their office and not the request line. The guy said they are probably not at the radio station right now.

(It is about 2:30 am, so maybe I'll stop eating chocolate chip cookies and eat some real food. No, that wasn't the name of the song I hoped to request, and I didn't tell the dude on the phone that I was eating chocolate chip cookies. Perhaps it sounded as though I was running on c.c. cookies. I don't know. End of narration of what I'm doing right now, which of course could be January, February or March when you are reading this post. Of the year 2010, 11, 12, or 2031, one year before... well, check out my blog later, and you'll find out.

I almost forgot. One of the best songs, which will be on my list of 100 best songs since 1970, is "Monsoon" by Tokio Hotel.

If you don't know where I'm coming from or what my opinion on music is by the time I'm finished, then maybe I've been fair, which is what I've set out to do here, as a writer of this blog. I will consider any rock songs and recording artists, but I'm not going to put all of them on that list. And I'm not showing favoritism. However, I do think my taste in music has been influenced by great bands and their songs.

My goal in choosing songs is not to make a favorites list but to try and figure out which songs were among the best. Some people reviewing music use the words "great" and "greatest" but to me that could be understood to mean songs that were popular or have been heard on radio stations over the years.

I'll try to explain at another time why music reviews and my thoughts on rock music appear on my fast food blog.

Now where was I? Oh yeah, the song by Flyleaf, an outstanding Christian hard-rock band, would have sounded even better if it had layered vocals. How do I know this? Well, I was listening to "The Effect" on the radio, then I opened the Effect Radio website so I could try to request a song. (It's a good station and I like it a lot.)

I listened to the webcast from the website at the same time as listening to the song on the regular radio. They weren't at the same place in the song, with a little delay on the song played on the webcast. I went back to listening to only the radio for now, but if you are some place else, maybe you can click in to the webcast. Have fun!

I didn't even go to Ohio, United States, Earth. haha But Mom and Dad did in August and early September. They went to Warren, Ohio and took some pictures at David Grohl Alley. Okay, that's next time. And this time, I really mean it.

Pecan pie and coffee.

The pie was yummy. I bought it at Albertsons and was happy it tasted so good. Sometimes pies from grocery stores have bad crusts. Not this one. It was good.
It's worthy of my 'Food That's Fast but Not Fast Food' mention (even though I don't have such a thing), so I'll mention it.

There, I mentioned it.

Now, it would be fun to find out if we really are what we eat.

What if...

If you see me, oh around the beginning of 2010 and I look like a GIANT PECAN, it's okay, don't fret.

I still kiss as good as ever, even if I haven't done any kissing in a long time. Maybe as a pecan, I'll get some love from walnuts, cashews, and almonds. Women? I doubt it.

Some women, my goodness, I'm afraid of you. My advice? Well, what good would that do.

Okay then, just be yourselves, but only if yourselves are nice, polite and kind selves. Otherwise, please stay away from me.

Pie is better than fun, if by fun you mean oh, cut that out and quit screwing with the English language.

I just thought I'd put a plug in for good old-fashioned fun. Do something that makes you smile and laugh. I didn't mean the word that ends with the letter 'x'.

That makes you laugh? If so, maybe I'm on the wrong planet Earth.

Yeah, if I had a chance to go back and do it (well, not IT!!!) again...

I WOULD HAVE gone to a PARALLEL UNIVERSITY.

And I would have had more fun there. Ummm...good, clean fun. Yeah, Right!

Shake It

I liked this Egg Nog Shake from McDonald's. We parked and I sipped on it. Yeah, I did "ENJOY" the shake as it says on the cup, but I would have liked the pumpkin-flavored shake better. Several times I tried to order that flavor of shake at two or more McDonald's restaurants (and it was listed on the drive-thru menu) but when I asked they said they they didn't have it right now.

Maybe someone somewhere doesn't want me to drink that flavor because they think I'll want to vote, since (as I recall) the last time I had that flavor of shake, I voted the same day.

Let's see now, what could I vote for this time: I'll vote for the shake that's best to drink while I'm voting... for best shake. Okay, I'm kidding. But really. I did drink some shakes this year to try to figure out which shake I liked best, and I think it just got me more confused. But if I can't come to a decision right away, then I can drink more shakes next year. So the world can't end in 2010. At least not until I'm finished drinking shakes.

A. Doomsayers, quit saying the world is going to end. B. Smile.

After Thanksgiving

We went shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Before coming back, we went to Fred Meyer then to the McDonald's next to Fred Meyer. I ordered iced coffee in that drive-thru so I could get going again. Two hours earlier I drank an Egg Nog Shake at another McDonald's restaurant not far from there.

Yeah, I get around. haha

Fast Food from an A&W Restaurant

 
A&W's New Bite-Size Brownies for $1.79 are a good treat. There are 6 little brownies. The centers are soft, moist, and slightly gooey, a nice contrast to the chewy outside of the brownies.

The 3-piece Chicken Strips & Fries at $4.39 is more than I'd like to pay for fast food these days, but I wanted to try it. The food tasted great and here's the best part: it was still warm when I finally sat down to eat. The French fries were about average in flavor and could have been better, but I thought the chicken strips were comparable in quality to the chicken strips of fast food competitors.

I went to get some fast food at an A&W Restaurant after I was unable to find the newly released CD I was looking for at the store.

This menu makes me happy because it gives me the feeling I'm doing something exciting and that there's some night life around here, when in reality small towns like this one can be quite boring, especially on a Tuesday evening.

 

Food Bank

 
Here's another photo of the local food bank, which distributes food to the food pantries in two eastern Oregon counties. It's an important part of the Oregon Food Bank network. You can read more of what I wrote in previous posts.

I also mixed in my happy, humorous thinking on other topics. It shows that we can have some fun and at the same time make a difference in the lives of others.

That's one strange photo

 
After taking photos Thursday at the food bank, I went to Jolts & Juice for an iced latte. I walked outside and ended up with (not really planned) this very strange camera angle, not getting much of my face in the picture and everything leans one way.

Next time I should make everything in the photo lean the other way, just so nobody thinks caffeine causes any particular ideology or reflects it. Heck no. That's what I love about caffeine, it's so non-judgmental. Caffeine isn't a person, but now maybe you're starting to understand what's going on here, or not going on, at Fast Food Yummy... harmlessly making fun of what needs to be made fun of and at the same time praising the very best in fast food, soft drinks, espresso drinks and coffee, I am very serious.

Serious about foods and beverages, then of course writing like a guy hanging out and talking to his buddies. This blog is supposed to be a fun place.

I'm also very serious about the music I review and mention here, and any other important topic. There will be more writing about music on the way. Stay tuned! As if you could tune into my blog. umm, haha

What if aliens grew underground

 
Boundaries of the imagination may be all that can limit our creativity as writers. It's almost Halloween and that's a good time to have a little fun!

This is a Sunchoke (also known as a Jerusalem artichoke) from the garden. It's a tuber and grows in the soil. In one sense, I like sunchokes better than potatoes because they have a sweet, nutty flavor. It's good steamed with butter or in thin slices, fried and served like hash browns. Yum!

Since it's going to be Halloween on Saturday, I'll be eating candy and write about it. But I don't eat candy every day. Hey, I can't believe it's snowing as I type, though I'm hoping it won't stick.

Being a real live snowman for Halloween would be a very cool costume, but I prefer having a hot babe in each arm. Of course it's another fantasy that will melt away, as soon as my brain thaws out. haha Lots of kidding in here. Too bad goofing off isn't considered a transferable skill. Then I might actually be able to lasso a real paying job, that is permanent and with benefits. I need to invent a time machine that takes me back to the Old West, or to the 25th century. Maybe it's nice there. And who knows, perhaps "Fast Food Yummy" is required reading for college students in the future. I always had a feeling pretty girls would like me better after I was dead. Oh yeah, I will be there if I can somehow invent a time machine. Better get to work. haha Bye.

It's a beautiful spring day (in this photo) except my favorite person passed away in April!! I miss my Grandma! I love her. I know she's in heaven, and I'll always think about her, so she's in my heart and my mind too.

She believed in me and cheered me up when I was feeling down. I've been mistreated, cheated, lied to and under appreciated by some past employers and past girlfriends. It's painful. Sad. Depressing. It's yet another reason "Fast Food Yummy" is such a great place for me because it's where I put a lot of my good feelings and comments about the best fast food experiences, and what else comes to mind when I'm hanging out with friends or by myself.

But have you ever noticed how there are more and more people these days that want to destroy our good feelings and take away our smiles?

Governments of this world continue to try and take away freedoms of speech from people on our planet, including the freedom to write what we think and believe, and that makes me very upset. Some nations of course are ruled by idiots who arrest people for what they say or write which means in those countries they have very little freedom of speech or almost no freedoms at all. Well, there's the 'reality' everybody seems to want me to focus on. Sometimes what comes to mind when I'm eating out is the big world because I care about people and I want change for the better.

The above photo shows my best dog friend, Dolly, also known as Dollie by my parents, and known as Dahlilah (or you could spell it Delilah, Dollilah, or Dollylah), Dollishka (my Russian nickname for her), Dolly Pepper (a name that didn't stick when she was a little puppy) and Dollypiglet, and other nicknames that shall go without mention at this time.

I used these Soy products to make the Soy Shake (pictured). Soybeans are (among the) ingredients used in the manufacturing of these foods, which in my opinion are very delicious.

It tastes similar to a peanut butter milkshake, which is a shake flavor I've loved in past years. But this shake does not have ice cream, milk or peanut butter in it.

This is a Soy Shake. The first time I made a soy shake this year, I used a blender but that makes it too runny, not thick at all that way, and it doesn't seem much like a milkshake. So I stirred it in a bowl. Then, using a spoon, I scooped it into a tall glass. Next, I ate the shake with a spoon. Yum! Oh yeah, I did take pictures but didn't feel like making any funny faces. As a result, I'm not in any of the pictures.

 
This ought to offset my zany donuttiness. Yes, it is me! Spell check just informed me I was wrong about the spelling of 'donuttiness' but since spell check isn't a sexy chick, I don't care.
